COLUMBUS — Martha Ann “Rit” Ivy, 70, died April 20, 2026, at her residence.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, at Piney Grove M.B. Church, with the Rev. Williams Clemons officiating. Burial will follow at Prairie Chapel M.B. Church Cemetery. Visitation is from 2-6 p.m. Friday at Carter’s Funeral Services. Carter’s Funeral Services of Columbus is in charge of arrangements.

Ms. Ivy was born June 18, 1955, in Lowndes County, to the late James Thmpson and Lucy V. Thompson. She was formerly employed as a line operator with United Technologies and was a member of Prairie Chapel M.B. Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Willie Thompson.

She is survived by her children, Justin and Derek Thompson of Columbus; siblings, Mary Perry, Irene Brice, Sadie Tate, Diane Clemmons, Brenda Wilson, Earl Thompson, Jimmie Thompson, Lamar Thompson, Al Thompson and Ben Deloach.

Pallbearers are Marcus Dawson, Lamarcus Thompson, Cory Wilson, Brian Thompson, Rashad Thompson, James Clemons, Antonio Wilson and Eric Thompson.
