TUPELO — Marques Antoine “Buck” Lanier, 44, died July 31, 2025, at his residence.

Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, at Southside M.B. Church in Columbus, with Armondo Adams officiating. Visitation is from 3-6 p.m. Friday at Carter’s Funeral Services. Carter’s Funeral Services of Columbus is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Lanier was born April 6, 1981, in Columbus, to D.C. Mitchell and Diane Lanier. He attended Columbus City schools and was formerly employed as a barber with Hair 911 and a supervisor with Mitsubishi. He was a member of the Columbus Gospel Youth Choir, New Converted Voices, Redemption, and Southside M.B. Church.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Brandy Easley Lanier; sons, Tajsman Lanier, Ethan Lanier and Evan Lanier; and siblings, Serita Chandler of Monteca, California, Kashawntria Lanier-Nuttall, Shannon Ewing, Lasondra Lanier and Darrel Sherrod of Warner Robins, Georgia, Belinda Rollins of Springfield, Massachusetts, Jewel Edwards, Eric Sherrod, Yolanda Washington, Rafael Mitchell and Jonathan Mitchell, all of Columbus.
