COLUMBUS – Mark Pruitt, 58, died May 7, 2026, at St. Dominics Hospital in Jackson. 

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, at Cockrell Funeral Home. Cockrell Funeral Home of Macon is in charge of arrangements. 

Mr. Pruitt was born Feb. 2, 1968, in Monticello, Arkansas, to the late Alfred Jefferson and Betty Jean Hartsell Pruitt. He attended Central Academy in Macon and was formerly employed as a truck driver at Eskridge Trucking and B & G Trucking. 

He is survived by his daughter, Katie Weathers of Millport, Alabama; sisters, Tina Smith of Columbus and Debbie Alford of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee; brothers, Jay Pruitt of Brooksville, Joey Pruitt and James Pruitt, both of Columbus; and three grandchildren.
