WEST POINT — Marineta Dailey Gardner, 75, died May 29, 2026, at her residence. 

Funeral services will be at 12 p.m. Saturday, at Pilgrim Grove M.B. Church with Robert T. Shamblin Traylor officiating. Visitation will be from 4-5 p.m. Friday, at the church. Carter’s Mortuary Services of West Point is in charge of arrangements. 

Mrs. Gardner was born April 3, 1951, in West Point, to the late Elden Dailey Sr. and Mary M. Dailey. She was formally employed as a teacher and as a supervisor at Mississippi State University. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Elden Dailey Jr. 

She is survived by her husband, William Gardner; daughters, Ava Harris and Dr. Amanda Troupe; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
