MACON — Marilyn E. Johnson, 83, died Aug. 12, 2025, at Oakwood Retirement Community in Brooksville.
Funeral services are at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Brooksville Mennonite Church. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation was from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the church. Cockrell Funeral Home of Macon is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Johnson was born March 19, 1942, in Fairview, Oklahoma, to the late Henry and Matilda Nightingale Jantz. She attended Standard School and was formerly employed in the nursing field, as a teacher at South Haven Mennonite School and Winton School in California, and as a secretary at Superior Fish. She was a member of the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Roderick “Roddy” Scott; and three sisters.
She is survived by her sisters, Viola Smith and Jaletta Yost, both of Brooksville.
