COLUMBUS— Mamie Lue Turner, 84, died Sept. 3, 2015, at her residence. Services are 1 p. m. Saturday at St. James MB Church in Crawford with the Rev. Chad Payton officiating. Burial will follow St. James Church Cemetery. Visitation is today from 3-8 p.m. at Carter’s of Columbus. Mrs. Turner was born Nov. 9, 1930, to the late Willie Shields and Tennie Perkins. She was a member of St. James MB Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Turner; siblings, John H. Shields, Willie George Shields, Nick Shields, Charlie Shields,Walter Shields, Mack Shields, Harry Shields, Luke Shields,Ollie Shields, James T. Shields, Addie Lash and Mary Douglas. She was a member of St. James MB Church. She is survived by her children, Jessie Kincade, Willa Calloway, Golden Turner-Smith, Eddie Turner and Beulah Evans, all of Columbus. Tommie Turner of Sumter, South Carolina, Gloria Christian of Topeka, Kansas, James H. Turner of Stockbridge, Georgia and Frank Turner of Ellenwood Georgia, and Cynthia Sanders of Madison, Alabama; siblings, Frank Shields of Madison, Wisconsin and Celevia Taylor of Chicago, Illinois; 31 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers are Charles Calloway Jr., Tony Calloway, Matayo Kincade, Eddie Turner Jr., Jhanero Evans, Jonathan Evans, Frank Turner II, Duantae Johnson and Brendon Harris.
