COLUMBUS — Major Leon Long, 15, died July 31, 2025, in Columbus.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, at New Hope High School, with the Rev. James Long officiating. Burial will follow at Strawbridge Cemetery in Ethelsville, Alabama. Visitation is from 2-6 p.m. Friday at Carter’s Funeral Services. Carter’s Funeral Services of Columbus is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Long was born Dec. 23, 2009, in Columbus, to Pierce Long and Brittany Long. He was a student at New Hope High School.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his siblings, Pierce Long Jr., Jayden Long Jr. and Aubree Long.

Pallbearers are Tyrekus Brooks, Pierce Long, Sedrick Lee, Jayden Long, Jeremy Long, Curtis Leech, Pierce Long Jr. and Tristan Lee.
