COLUMBUS — M.C. Lowery Jr., 68, died June 18, 2026, at his residence.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, at Christian Hill M.B. Church in Brooksville, with Johnny Durrah officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation is from 1-5 p.m. Thursday at Carter’s Funeral Services. Carter’s Funeral Services of Columbus is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Lowery was born Aug. 28, 1957, in Noxubee County, to the late M.C. Lowery Sr. and Dorothy Mae Lowery. He was formerly employed as an operator with Parker’s Furniture and was a member of United Faith Interdenominational Ministries.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Bobbie Ruth.

He is survived by his children, Lenora Byrd, Viola Davis, Kunta Gordon, Georgia Williams, Everlyn Gordon, Sherika Gordon, Sharon Gordon and De’Asia Boykin, all of Columbus, Victor Binion and Marcus Binion, both of Noxubee County; sister, Ruby Richardson of Columbus; 34 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
