ABERDEEN — Lyonel Thomas Senter Jr., 77, died May 18, 2011, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. Services are today at 11 a.m. at Aberdeen First Presbyterian Church with the Revs. Sandra Sisson and Wayne Bruchey officiating. Burial will be in Oddfellows Rest Cemetery. Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home in Aberdeen is in charge of the services. Visitation is today from 9 a.m. until the service time at the church. Mr. Senter was born July 30, 1933, to the late Lyonel Thomas Senter Sr. and Eva Lee Jetton Senter in Fulton. He was a lifelong resident of Aberdeen. He graduated from Aberdeen High School, University of Southern Mississippi and the University of Mississippi Law School. He was a member Aberdeen First Presbyterian Church. He worked as an attorney, state judge, chief judge of the Northern District in Aberdeen, and a senior judge to the Southern District of Mississippi. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Stuart Dickson Senter. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Dickson Senter of Aberdeen; daughter, Elizabeth Senter Van Eepoel of Orlando, Fla.; son, John Thomas Senter of Tupelo; sister, Eva Lee Henley of Aberdeen and Nancy Brown of Amory; two grandchildren and one stepgrandchild. Pallbearers are Arch Bullard, Paul Hurst, Jerry Read, Ron Cochran, Bruce Vail, David Crews and Arlen Coyle. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Aberdeen First Presbyterian Church, 401 West Commerce St., Aberdeen, MS 39730.
