BROOKSVILLE — Luther C. “L.C.” Smith, 76, died Nov. 24, 2025, in Starkville.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, at Harrison Grove M.B. Church, with the Rev. Billy Goodwin officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation is from 1-5 p.m. Saturday at Carter’s Funeral Services. Carter’s Funeral Services of Macon is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Smith was born May 4, 1949, in Brooksville, to the late Albert Smith and Willie Mary Jackson-Smith. He was formerly employed as a farmer and a member of Harrison Grove M.B. Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Gregory Wells; and siblings, Lillie Smith, Robert Smith, Arthur Smith and Lee Tolon.

He is survived by his siblings, Willie Albert Smith, Henry Smith and Marvin Smith, all of Brooksville, L.T. Smith of Columbus, Mary Jane McClung of Hattiesburg, and Linda Tate of Macon; and one grandchild.

Pallbearers are Casey Smith, Dedrick Barnett, Marcus Smith, Joshun Tate, Andrew Roby, Antonio Smith and Keith McClung.
