BROOKSVILLE — Lucian Nathaniel “Mr. Nate” Smith, 74, died Jan. 13, 2026, at Anderson Hospital in Meridian.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, at Memorial Gardens, with the Rev. Robert Williams officiating. Visitation is from 1-5 p.m. Tuesday at Carter’s Funeral Services. Carter’s Funeral Services of Columbus is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Smith was born March 27, 1951, in Hamilton, to the late Oscar Lee Smith and Mary Danner Smith. He was formerly employed with Georgia Gulf and was a member of Second Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ollie Danner.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda Smith of Brooksville; daughters, Natalie Johnson of Starkville and Viette Mixon of Detroit, Michigan; siblings, Oscar Wayne Smith of Washington, D.C., June C. Keaton of Hyattsville, Maryland, and Rosie Diggs of Columbus; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
