STARKVILLE — Lizzie Mae Brown Ward, 97, died March 11, 2026, in Columbus.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Kingdom Hall. Burial will follow at New Prospect Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3-5 p.m. Saturday at West Memorial Funeral Home. West Memorial Funeral Home of Starkville is in charge of arrangements.

She is survived by her children, Darnell Fisher, Carl Jr. Ward, Janice Hogan, Ree Southward, Gerry Ward, Thurman Ward, Jacqueline Skinner, Brandon Ward, Roy Ward, Patricia Ward Johnson and Natalie Ward, all of Starkville, and Courtney Ward; 32 grandchildren; 62 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
