NOXUBEE COUNTY — Lester “Chalk” Henley, 61, died June 23, 2024, at Magnolia Regional Health Center.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, at Carter’s Funeral Services Chapel, with Willie S. Sanders officiating. Burial will follow at Henley Cemetery in Brooksville. Visitation will be from 1-5 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Carter’s Funeral Services of Macon is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Henley was born Feb. 4, 1964, in Noxubee County, to Dell Hargrove and the late Annie Pearl Henley Hargrove. He was formerly employed as a security officer at River Hill Bingo Hall and was a member of Piney Grove M.B. Church.

In addition to his father, he is survived by his children, Dejuan Jackson of Tuscumbia, Alabama, Joshua Alexander of Hobbs, New Mexico, Shylia and Shara Henley, both of Huntsville; siblings, Meshell Henley of Columbia, South Carolina, Joe Earl Henley of Iuka and LeRon Hargrove of Durham, North Carolina; and 19 grandchildren.
