WEST POINT — Laura Mae Ross, 69, died Jan. 29, 2026, at her residence.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, at Third Mt. Olive M.B. Church, with the Rev. Al Lathan Sr. officiating. Burial will follow at West Point Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 4-5 p.m. Friday, at Carter’s Mortuary Services. Carter’s Mortuary Services of West Point is in charge of arrangements.
Ms. Ross was born Sept. 25, 1956, in Clay County, to the late Al B. Ross Sr. and Idella Lee Ross. She was formerly employed with Flexible Flyer.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, James Curtis Ross; brothers, James Henry Randle and Wheller Glover; and sisters, Julie B. Ross, Annie Ruth Brown and Bernice Thomas.
She is survived by her sons, James Gandy and Telly Gandy; daughters, Jacqueline Ross, Gloria Ross Lindsey and Jennifer Gandy; brother, Albert Ross Jr.; sisters, Lizzie B. Walker, Mary Pippins and Eliza Shaffer; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
