SILVER SPRING, Md. — Laura Mae Martin Cole, 69, died Nov. 9, 2025.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, at Pleasant Grove Full Gospel Baptist Church in Columbus, with Timothy Bourne officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. Carter’s Funeral Services of Columbus is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Cole was born July 19, 1956, in Columbus, to the late Latt and Bertha Martin. She was a graduate of Motley High School and was formerly employed with Georgetown Hospital and Children’s Hospital in Washington, D.C. She was a member of Resurrection Baptist Church in Silver Spring.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Isaac Verdell and Willie James Harris.

She is survived by her husband, Eddie Cole Sr.; siblings, Mattie Verdell, Lonnie Douglas, Larry Martin, Bobby Martin, Dwayne Martin, Melvin Martin and Michael Martin.

Pallbearers are Troy Sherrod, Ronnie Bailey, Ricardo Harris, LeShawn Sherrod, Dexter Sherrod and Shannon Harris.
