STARKVILLE — Lashanda Monique “Shonda” Johnson Sheehy, 52, died July 19, 2025, at Baptist Hospital in Jackson.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, at True Vine M.B. Church, with the Rev. Jeffery Turnipseed officiating. Burial will follow at Sikes Cemetery. Visitation is from 1-5 p.m. Friday at Hariston and Hairston Funeral Homes. Hairston and Hairston Funeral Homes of Starkville is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Sheehy was born Jan. 1, 1973, in Los Angeles, California, to the late LE Weathersby and Mae Halie Weathersby.  She was a 1990 graduate of BL Moor High School and was formerly employed as a human resources clerk in the accounts payable department with Sedgwick. She was a member of True Vine M.B. Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony Sheehy.

She is survived by her children, Kyisha Collier, Sanquita Bibbs and Trumichael Johnson, all of Starkville, Tashema Bibbs of Nashville, Tennessee, and Jalisha Bibbs of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; siblings, the Rev. Kathy Abbitt Cash of Los Angeles, California, Kevin Abbitt of Bakersfield and Jason Abbit of Houston, Texas; and seven grandchildren.
