STEENS — Larry Shirley Sr., 70, died Feb. 1, 2026, in Eupora.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, at 15th Street Church of God in Christ in Columbus, with Marion Bonner officiating. Burial will follow at Tabernacle C.M.E Church Cemetery. Visitation is from 2-6 p.m. Friday at Carter’s Funeral Services. Carter’s Funeral Services of Columbus is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Shirley was born Aug. 17, 1955, in Columbus, to the late Cleveland Smith Sr. and Floy Kate Shirley. He was formerly employed withUnited Technologies and was a member of 15th Church of God In Christ and Freedom Worship Center.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Oranell Gray.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Shirley of Columbus; children, Carmen Slaughter of Hampton, Georgia, Katrina Shirley, Larry Shirley Jr., Jennifer Porter and Amy Davis, all of Columbus, Jacqueline Danner and Darryl Williams, both of Atlanta, Georgia; brother, Jimmy D. Shirley of Steens; 17 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Jerry Lewis Jr., Chris Joiner, Darryl Williams, Justin Lewis, Eddie Shelton, Caleb Slaughter, Jahill Gray and Bobby Slaughter.
