WEST POINT — Katie Dell Cannon Temple, 91, died Oct. 19, 2025. 

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, at Third Mt. Olive M.B. Church, with Randy L. Conley Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-3 p.m. Sunday, at Carter’s Mortuary Service. Carter’s Mortuary Service of West Point is in charge of arrangements. 

Mrs. Temple was born June 7, 1934, in Cedar Bluff, to the late Tom Cannon and Katie Bell Cannon. She was formerly employed as a nurse’s aide. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frankie Temple Sr.; and son, Matthew Temple. 

She is survived by her sons, James Cannon and Frankie Temple Jr.; daughters, Mary Temple, Kajuan Evans, Shirley Temple, Barbara Lathan, Alisia Temple and Joyce T. Hamilton; 31 grandchildren; 57 great-grandchildren; and 17 great-great-grandchildren.
