MACON — Karen Ann Barrett, 70, died July 7, 2026, at Noxubee County Nursing Home. 

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, at Macon Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Phillip Palmertree officiating. Visitation will be 8:30 a.m. Friday, at the church. Cockrell Funeral Home of Macon is in charge of arrangements. 

Ms. Barrett was born January 15, 1956, in Macon, to the late John and Ann Barrett. She was a 1974 graduate of Central Academy and graduated from Mississippi University for Women. She was formally employed as a Kindergarten teacher at Central Academy and as a daycare assistant. She was a member of Macon Presbyterian Church. 

She is survived by her brother, Johnny Barrett of Oxford; and sister, Betsy Bailey of Apex, North Carolina.
