COLUMBUS — Karen Ann Barksdale, 64, died June 12, 2019, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Life Church, with Jody Andres officiating. Lowndes Funeral Home of Columbus is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Barksdale was born July 3, 1954, in O’Lean, New York, to the late Charles W. and Rhea Simmons. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Brenda Joyce Simmons. She is survived by her husband, Ray Barksdale; children, Tammy Nowland and Randy Barksdale, both of Columbus, and Jamie Barksdale of Caledonia; brother, Albert E. Simmons of Oark, Arkansas; sisters, Sherry L. Irons of Cyclone, Pennsylvania and Darlene M. Weaver of Driftwood, Pennsylvania; and 12 grandchildren.
