STARKVILLE — Juliaphine T. “Phine” Wilson, 79, died Sept. 5, 2025, at her residence.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, at Griffin Chapel U.M. Church, with Randy Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Newlight Church Cemetery. Visitation is from 1-5 p.m. Friday at Hairston and Hairston Funeral Homes. Hairston and Hairston Funeral Homes of Starkville is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Wilson was born Aug. 18, 1946, in Starkville, to the late Roosevelt Taylor and Magnolia Boyd Taylor. She was a graduate of the Michael Reese School of Nursing and was formerly employed as a licensed practical nurse. She was a member of the NAACP and Griffin U.M. Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Roosevelt Taylor Jr.

She is survived by her son, Bruce L. Wilson of Slidell, Louisiana; siblings, Dorothy Vaughn, Alma Jean Taylor, Lawrence Taylor, Dane Taylor-Singleton, Deborah Shannon, Ronnie Taylor, Vanessa Larry and Andreas Taylor; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Chais Wilson, Bruce Wilson Jr., Lawrence Taylor, Andreas Taylor, Otis Robinson and Clinton Vaughn.
