VERNON, Ala. — Joyce Marie Channell, 70, died Sept. 17, 2025, at North Alabama Medical Center in Florence, Alabama.

No services will be held. Otts Funeral Home of Sulligent is in charge of arrangements.

Ms. Channell was born Jan. 17, 1955, in Lamar County, to the late Claudie Burton Channell and Deaner Stockman. She attended Hightogy Community schools and was formerly employed in the poultry farm industry in Addison.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Violet Curry, Eula Davis, Virginia Porter and Billy Joe Channell; and one great-grandchild.

She is survived by her children, Travis Kizzire and Christopher Kizzire, both of Vernon, Kathy Harbin of Fayette, and Tammy Kizzire of Frostproof, Florida; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
