COLUMBUS — Johnnie B. Dora, 69, died April 22, 2026, in Memphis. 

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, at Harris Grove M.B. Church, with Bill Goodwin officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 12-5 p.m. Friday, at Hairston and Hairston Funeral Home. Hairston and Hairston Funeral Home of Columbus is in charge of arrangements. 

Mr. Dora was born Sept. 7, 1956, in Columbus, to the late Callie Spencer and Howard Smith. He was formerly employed as a painter, roofer and doing flooring for Mr. Christ Chain.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Dortothy Smith, Shirley Spencer, Mary Bush, Nineh Spencer, Annie Smith and Dorothy Smith; and brother, Howard Smith. 

He is survived by his sisters, Bessie Pointer, Earline Shelton, Mary Tate, all of Columbus, Rosie Smith, Annette Smith, Betty Smith and Jean Smith, all of Memphis, Tennessee.
