STARKVILLE — John Sykes Jr., 72, died May 29, 2016. Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Pleasant Grove MB Church in Crawford. Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Visitation is today from 3-7 p.m. at West Memorial Funeral Home. He is survived by his wife, Kay Frances; children, Elvis Wayne Sykes and Tony Sykes, both of Crawford, Steven Michael Sykes of Jackson, Hansel Moore of Memphis, Tennessee, and Lonzel Brooks of Kankakee, Illinois; daughters, Stephanie Ross of Douglasville, Georgia, and Mary Baptist of Kankakee; brother, Willie James Sykes of Flint, Michigan; sisters, Gertie B. Jones of Crawford, Sadie Harriston of Flint and Debra Wynn of Starkville; and 20 grandchildren.
