EUTAW, Ala. — John McCarter, 73, died May 2, 2025, at his residence.

No services will be held. Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. Saturday, June 7, 2025, at Mt. Hope Church in Dancy. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. McCarter was born Feb. 18, 1952, to the late Howard Grady and Kathryn Elizabeth Gray McCarter. He was self-employed as an antiques entrepreneur.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepmother, Vera Smith McCarter.

He is survived by his brother, Phillip G. McCarter of Pheba.
