SULLIGENT, Ala. — John “Bob” Robert Hankins, 71, died Oct. 17, 2025, at DCH in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. 

A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Otts Funeral Home of Sulligent is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Hankins was born May 10, 1954, in Guin, Alabama, to the late John Tol Hankins and Margie Ann Green. He attended school in Moline, Illinois and was formerly employed as a truck driver. He was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ray Hankins.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Hankins; son Josh Hankins of Athens, Tennessee; daughters, Shalee Albrecht of Tupelo and Danielle Hankins of Hartsville, Tennessee; brothers, Jeff Hankins, of Brilliant, Alabama, and Henry Hankins of Sulligent; sisters, Abby Hankins of Brilliant and Suzy Roberts of Sulligent; and 10 grandchildren.
