MILLPORT, Ala. — John Douglas “Doug” Clardy, 72, died April 15, 2026, at his residence.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, at Dowdle Funeral Home, with Chris Hunicutt officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Dowdle Funeral Home of Millport is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Clardy was born in Millport, to the late William Clardy and Clarice Weathers. He was formerly owner and operator of a computer business and employed as a tool department representative with Lowe’s in Northport. He attended Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Kennedy and Friendship Baptist Church in Reform.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Sharon Clardy; and siblings, Jean Jordan, Mack and Steve Clardy.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy; children, Anna, John and Adam; stepson, Chris; sister, Joan Fleming; and 16 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Tyler Poole, Chris Reynolds, Josh Clardy, Brad Fleming, Lee Sullivan and Phil Gruwell.
