COLUMBUS — John G. “City” Bell, 62, died Jan. 22, 2026, in Columbus.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Carter’s Funeral Services, Visitation is from 4-6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Carter’s Funeral Services of Columbus is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Bell was born July 11, 1963, in Columbus, to the late Joe Stewart Sr. and Lila Bell Stewart. He was a veteran of the United States Army and was formerly employed with Mississippi University for Women and the Columbus Housing Authority.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lynda Nash; and siblings, Jessie Williams and Joe Stewart Jr.

He is survived by his children, Toran Bell and Precious Craddieth, both of Columbus, Andrea Nash and Jasmine Nash, both of Louisville, Miranda Nash of Southaven, and Kobe Bell of Austin, Texas; siblings, Della Martin of New York City, New York, Frank Stewart of Gary, Indiana, Shirley Verdell, Geraldine Allen, Gloria Hunter, Dennis Stewart and Rickey Stewart, all of Columbus, Ethel Stewart of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Larry Stewart of Jackson; and seven grandchildren.
