COLUMBUS — Joe Lee, 79, died Sept. 9, 2025, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Jackson. 

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Lee-Sykes Funeral Home of Columbus is in charge of arrangements. 

Mr. Lee was born Feb. 2, 1946, in Lowndes County, to the late Levi and Ellawee Lee. He was formerly employed at Ford Motor Company and attended Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Sammie Lee, Tommie Lee and Walter James Lee; and sisters, Carrie Cook and Mattie Green. 

He is survived by his wife, Jeanne Lee; children, Derek Lee, Laura Russell and Latrese Lee; brothers, Eugene Poindexer, Cleveland Lee, Sandy Lee, Carzell Lee and Nathaniel Lee; sisters, Queen Stewart, Alma Lee and Doretha Hill; nine grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
