WEST POINT — Joe W. Amos, 61, died Dec. 4, 2019, at Merit Hospital in Jackson. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Mt. Hermon M.B. Church, with Manson B. Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be two hours prior to services at the church. Carter’s Mortuary Services of West Point is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Amos was born Feb. 28, 1958, in West Point, to the late Tessie Amos and Everlena Amos. He was formerly employed as an engineer. He is survived by his wife, Vicki Amos of Houston, Texas; sons, Malcolm Sykes and Jonathan Amos, both of Houston, Nicholas Sykes of Arlington, Virginia, and Joseph Amos of Dallas, Texas; brothers, Robert Amos and Willie Amos, both of West Point, and George Amos of Boston, Massachusetts; sisters, Lenora Jones of Cleveland, Ohio and Viola Amos of West Point; and three grandchildren.
