WEST POINT — Jimmy Lee Mallard Jr., 68, died Dec. 9, 2025, in Prairie. 

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, at Baptist Grove M.B. Church in Prairie, with Joseph Lampkin officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-5 p.m. Saturday, at Carter’s Mortuary Services. Carter’s Mortuary Services of West Point is in charge of arrangements. 

Mr. Mallard was born June 19, 1957, in Aberdeen, to the late Jimmy Lee Mallard Sr. and Odessa Yvonne Mallard. He was a veteran of the United States Marines. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Mariah Wilson. 

He is survived by his wife, Cherayl Mallard; sons, Gerrick Mallard Sr. and Marthaius Mallard; daughters, Ashley Hoskins and Dominique Mallard; brothers, David Mallard, Robert Mallard and James Mallard; sisters, Elvira Johnson, Debra Hayes and Carolyn Randle; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
