SULLIGENT, Ala.  — Jimmy Paul George, 82, died Dec. 2, 2025, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. 

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, at Otts Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Wofford Cemetery. Visitation will be two hours prior to services at the funeral home. Otts Funeral Home of Sulligent is in charge of arrangements. 

Mr. George was born Aug. 23, 1943, in Belmont, to the late Artis George and Rudy Johnson George. He attended Belmont High School and was formerly employed as the owner and operator of George’s Upholstery. He was a member of Sulligent Freewill Baptist Church. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Lori Johnson; sisters, Louis Whitney, Jenell Reese and Virginia Dill; and brothers, Gary George and Joe George. 

He is survived by his wife, Gloria George; sons, Danny George of Vernon, Alabama, Nathan George of Hernando and Galen George of Sulligent; daughter, Rosie Merchant of Beaverton, Alabama; brothers, Jerry George of Vernon and William Geroge of Caledonia; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
