GREENWOOD SPRINGS — Jimmy Ray Arnold, 79, died April 19, 2026, at his residence.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, at New Centerpoint F.W.B. Church, with Heath Webb and Jeremy Hollis officiating. Graveside services with Military Honors will follow at Lan Cemetery. Visitation is from 6-8 p.m. at Otts Funeral Home. Otts Funeral Home of Sulligent is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Arnold was born May 9, 1946, in Aberdeen, to the late Janie Lee Arnold. He was a 1964 graduate of Hatley High School and was a veteran of the Alabama Army National Guard, serving in the 877th ENGR Battalion. He was formerly employed with Babcock & Wilcox in West Point. He was a member of New Centerpoint F.W.B. Church.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his parents, Greely Ray and Cora Sue Arnold; sister, Elizabeth Arnold Smith; and one grandchild.
He is survived by his wife, Sarah Arnold of Greenwood Springs; and son, Shawn Arnold of Sulligent.
Pallbearers are James McCain, Richard Long, Nathan Minga, Kenny Phillips, Joel Puckett and Kirk Reeder.
