COLUMBUS — Jimmie Lee Harris, 89, died Dec. 31, 2025, at his residence.

Funeral services will be at noon Sunday, at Pleasant Grove Full Gospel Baptist Church, with Timothy Bourne officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation is from noon-5 p.m. Saturday at Carter’s Funeral Services. Carter’s Funeral Services of Columbus is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Harris was born May 8, 1936, in Noxubee County, to the late Dock Harris and Elizabeth Taylor Harris. He was formerly employed with Sanderson Plumbing, Arrow Fencing Company, the City of Columbus and Airline Manufacturing. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Full Gospel Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Roosevelt Harris, Sylvia Jones, Christine Smith, Hattie Stewart.

He is survived by his children, Ruby Rice, Lonzell Harris, Perry Harris, Taffuya Harris, Shanettria Harris, WC Jones, Roy Jones and Theodis Williams; siblings, Mary Adams, Susie Whitfield, Willie C. Harris, Tommie C. Harris and William Harris; 16 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Troy Sherrod, Ronnie Bailey, Emmitt Harris, Desi Harris, Willie Earl Smith and Alphonso Thomas.
