COLUMBUS — Jessie Kate Washington Webber, 92, died Feb. 15, 2026, at her residence.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, at Prairie Hill M.B. Church, with Jimmy Cockrell Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Washington Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. Friday, at Carter’s Funeral Services. Carter’s Funeral Services of Columbus is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Webber was born March 31, 1933, in Columbus, to the late Addison Washington and Viola Washington. She was a graduate of Mary Holmes College and was formerly employed as an educator at West Craft HeadStart and as child care director at Ida Henry Day Care Center. She was a member of Prairie Hill M.B. Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wright Webber Sr.; siblings, Albert Washington, Patrick Washington, Edmond Washington, Claudia Surall and V. Birdies Washington; and one grandchild.
She is survived by her children, Dianne Weber, Wright Webber Jr., Freeman L. Webber, Gwen M. Manning, Abner L. Webber, Ervin F. Webber and Vena R. Webber; siblings, Adline Rice, Earlene Washington and Inella James; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Floyd Webber, Wesley James, Roger Rice, Eddie Webber, Johnny Webber, Cochise Stewart and Jerry Surall.
