Lt. Col. Jerry Douglas Henderson, retired, died May 17, 2014. Services are 10 a.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church in Starkville. Burial will follow at Memorial Garden Park. Visitation is today from 5-7 p. at Welch Funeral Home in Starkville. Mr. Henderson was born June 22, 1941, in Neshoba County, to the late Bobbie Barham Henderson and Thomas Lynn Henderson. He was a graduate of Mississippi College, where he earned a degree in accounting. He also earned a Master’s degree from Mississippi State University. He was a veteran of the US Air National Guard, and was formerly employed with American Cynamide Company in Jackson. He is survived by wife, Cricket Filson Henderson; children, Leigh Ellen Henderson of Gig Harbor, Washington, Clinton Douglas Henderson of Ridgeland, Shannon Henderson Paul of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; sister, Barbara Henderson Phillips; and two grandchildren. Pallbearers are Ike Clay, Bill Earnhart, Jeff Frazier, Jim Jenkins, Joe Shurden and George Simon.
