MILLPORT, Ala. — Jerome Rector, 87, died Sept. 23, 2025, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, at Dowdle Funeral Home, with Wes Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Ebenezer Cemetery in Millport. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home chapel. Dowdle Funeral Home of Millport is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Rector was born March 19, 1938, in Millport, to the late Martin C. and Annie Rector. He was a 1957 graduate of Millport High School and a veteran of the United States Army, serving as an honor guard. He was formerly employed with United Technologies, formerly known as Bosch. He was a member of Fernbank Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his children, Mary Rector and Michael Jerome Rector; and siblings, Casey Brewer, Florence Mae Sudduth, Riley Clayton, Doug Rector and Jane Loilson.

He is survived by his wife, Joanne Rector; son, Greg Rector of Reform; sister, Joyce Varnon of Millport; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Lance Bobbitt, Kaleb Estes, Mark Condra, Roger Cunningham, J.T. Beard, Dale McNees and Byron Richards.
