WEST POINT — Jannie M. Fenton, 73, died Feb. 9, 2013, at Jackson University Hospital. Services were Saturday at Oak Grove Cemetery with the Rev. Sammie Hill officiating. Carter’s Mortuary Services was in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Fenton was born Dec. 21, 1939, to the late Lewis Collins Sr. and Lucille Collins. She was a member of Shady Grove Waverly M.B. Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Fenton Sr.; son, John Fenton Jr.; brothers, Tom Collins, Lewis Collins, Lee Collins and Jimmy Collins; and sister, Emma Lou Smith. She is survived by her sons, Jim B. Fenton and Perry Fenton; daughters, Ella Mae Gardner, Brenda Ewell, Sally Fenton and Christina Fenton; brothers, Eddie James Collins, W.J. Collins and Willie Collins; sisters, Rosie Mae Hall, Medell Collins, Beatrice Young and Essie B. Whitmore; 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
