SULLIGENT, Ala. — James Thomas Williams, 94, died March 7, 2026, at his residence.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, at Otts Funeral Home Chapel, with Brian Reeves officiating. Burial will follow at Wofford Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Otts Funeral Home of Sulligent is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Williams was born Dec. 22, 1931, in Sulligent, to the late Thomas Jackson “Tommy” Williams and Mary Evalee Canterbury Williams. He was a 1952 graduate of Sulligent High School and was formerly employed with Glenn Enterprises and as a custodian with Lamar County High School. He was a member of Oak Hill Fellowship Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Gladys Ryals, Eunice Jenkins and Frank Williams; and one grandchild.
He is survived by his wife, Bett Williams of Sulligent; children, Ruben Williams, David Williams and Deloris Williams, all of Sulligent, and Pam Cook of Hanceville; brother, Larry Williams of Detroit; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
