SULLIGENT, Ala. — James Lewis Stanford,  62, died July 1, 2025, at his residence.

A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Monday, at Otts Funeral Home Chapel, with Thad Hawkins officiating. Visitation is one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Otts Funeral Home of Sulligent is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Stanford was born May 14, 1963, in Gattman, to the late Robert and Willie Cantrell. He attended Sulligent schools and was formerly employed with Sprint Boat and Franklin Sawmill.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Marie Stockman Stanford; and siblings, Joe Cantrell, B. Cantrell, Gene Cantrell and Ann Kieffer.

He is survived by his children, Robert Stanford of Hamilton, Tracey Haynes of Huntsville, Tabitha Blaylock of Vernon, Sam Blaylock of Caledonia, Jessie Hopson and Felicia Vail, both of Sulligent; siblings, JoAnne Foster and Jeryl Cantrell; and 15 grandchildren.
