James Robinson
Date of notice: February 10, 2026
James Ralph Robinson passed away Sunday, February 1, 2026, at Windsor Nursing Home in Columbus, MS.
Ralph was born in Columbus, MS, on October 31, 1944, to William Claude and Josie Augusta Wilder Robinson. He was a veteran during the Vietnam War and had served proudly in the US Army as a Medic. Ralph was also a loyal Mississippi State Bulldog fan. He enjoyed taking his nieces and nephews to the games in Starkville.
Upon his honorable discharge from the US Army, Ralph started working at Bosch, later to be named United Technologies and then Johnson Electric. He worked there until the day they closed. He had many friends at UT and I am sure they all remember his generosity. He often treated them to Hardees biscuits and other goodies.
He was always helping someone in need…. Family, friend, neighbors and people he didn’t even know. It didn’t matter, if he thought they needed help, he didn’t hesitate.
Other than his parents, Ralph was preceded in death by his brothers, William Wilder Robinson and Victor Allen Robinson and his sisters, Josie Doris R. Jordan and Claudine R. Beason.
He is survived by his brothers, Stewart H. “Buddy” Robinson, Robert E. “Bobby” Robinson, Danny R. Robinson and Thomas Kenneth “Kenny” Robinson. He is also survived by his sisters, Virginia R. Forrester and Hazel R. Cummings, as well as many special nieces and nephews that he enjoyed spoiling!
A Memorial in his memory will be held at a later date.
