STARKVILLE — James Emanuel Moak, 99, died April 28, 2016. Graveside services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Memorial Garden Park. Visitation will be two hours prior to services at First Baptist Church in Starkville. Mr. Moak was born Oct. 26, 1916 to the late Levi and Courtney Moak in Norfield. He graduated from Enterprise High School, received an undergraduate degree in forestry from University of Florida, masters degree from Auburn University and doctorate from Syracuse University. He was previously employed in the Bienville National Forest as a Forest Ranger and as a teacher of forest economics at Mississippi State University. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps and the National Guard Fighter Squadron. He was a member of First Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Laura Kyzar, Gladys Owens, Eddis Johnson, Quida Thompson, Tera Krout and Ester Lee Jackson; and brothers, Leon Moak, Lonnie Moak, Emmett Moak and Louie Moak. He is survived by his children, Jimmy Moak, Laura Moak Aiken and Nancy Moak Fultz; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
