SULLIGENT, Ala. — James L. Mastin, 82, died March 11, 2024, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. 

Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Saturday, at Otts Funeral Home, with Lorenzo Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Shiloh Cemetery. Visitation is hour prior to services at the funeral home. Otts Funeral Home of Sulligent is in charge of arrangements. 

Mr. Mastin was born Dec. 9, 1941, in Huntsville, Alabama, to Maggie Lou Dill Cribbs and the late Lesley Mastin . He was formerly employed as a logger and with Wal-Mart. He was a member of North Hillcrest Church of Christ. 

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his wife, Elnore Cribbs Mastin; step-father, Lincoln Cribbs; and son, Reginald Mastin. 

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his sons, Tony Mastin, Calvin Mastin, both of Columbus, Frankie Mastin, Greg Mastin, both of Vernon, Alabama, and Quincy Mastin of Birmingham, Alabama; daughters, Prissy Sullivan of Starkville and Sheila Mastin of Sulligent; brother, Albert Henry Mastin of Columbus; 23 grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.
