CEDAR BLUFF — James Douglas Martin, 30, died June 17, 2026, at Baptist Health Brookwood Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama. 

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, at Calvert Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Scott Griffin and the Rev. Donald Pounders officiating. Burial will follow in Cairo Cemetery. Visitation will be held two hours prior to services at the funeral home. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements. 

Mr. Martin was born on February 25, 1996, in Columbus, to Douglas Ellis and Susan Denise Cartee Martin. He was formally employed as a frac technician and at Import Doctors. He attended Enon Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sister, Sierra Winston of Panama City, Florida; brother, Jonathan Martin of West Point; step-sisters, Kaitlin Nixon of Northport and Kade Kimbrell of Berry; and step-brother, John Eaton of Northport. 

Pallbearers are Jonathan Martin, Jarrett Winston, John Eaton, Hayden Pate, Chase Thompson, Ryan Perry, Deante Walker and Bentley Imes Ferguson.
