MACON — James Otis “Jim O.” Ivy Sr., 87, died Dec. 11, 2025. 

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, at Macedonia Baptist Church, with Terry L. Rice officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 1-4 p.m. Saturday at Lee-Sykes Funeral Home Chapel. Lee-Sykes Funeral Home of Macon is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Ivy was born Jan. 4, 1938, in Noxubee County, to the late John Ivy Jr. and Katie Bewer Ivy. He was formerly employed at Boral Bricks and TXI Plant/Holna. He was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel Bell Ivy; sisters, Johnnie Mae Cartwright, Ledora Mathews, Lucille Taylor,  Fedosha Harlan and Enora Hopkins. 

He is survived by his children, James Otis Ivy Jr. of Macon, Janice Marie Ivy Maryberry of Cleveland and Rogena Ivy Bonner of Northport, Alabama; and three grandchildren.
