ECRU – James “Mike” Harris, Jr., 68, died April 27, 2026, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. 

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Otts Funeral Home of Sulligent, Alabama, is in charge of arrangements. 

Mr. Harris was born on June 17, 1957, in Birmingham, Alabama, to the late James Frederick Harris and Willodean Stallings. He was a 1975 graduate of Fultondale High School and was formally employed as a police officer and a truck driver. 

He is survived by his wife, Melanie Harris; his children, Micheal Harris, Ashley Clemons and Tiffany Coleman; and eight grandchildren.
