STARKVILLE — James “Big Time Billy” E. Harris, 72, died June 22, 2009, at Starkville Manor Nursing Home. Services are Saturday at 2 p.m. at West Lowndes High School in Columbus with the Rev. Lee Petty officiating. Visitation is today from 1-3 p.m. at West Memorial Funeral Home in Starkville and from 4-7 p.m. at Carter’s Funeral Services in Columbus. Burial will follow at Wicks Cemetery. West Memorial Funeral Home in Starkville is in charge of the arrangements. Mr. Harris was born in Lowndes County and was self-employed. He is survived by his daughters, Sharon Calmes, of Crawford,s Cynthia Harris Clark, Lisa Ingram, Vickie Perkins, Carla Williams, all of Starkville and Felicia Reynolds, of Calhoun, Ga.; sons, James E. Harris, of Starkville, Steve Bogan, and Muwango Harris, both of Columbus, and Vincent and Victor Harris, both of New York, and Courtney Mason, of New Jersey; brother, John L. Harris, of Columbus; sisters, Izola Smith, of St. Louis, Barbara McDonald, of Jackson, and Wanda Harris, of Atlanta; and 17 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
