James Greenleaf

COLUMBUS — James Greenleaf, 84, died Dec. 23, 2025, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, at Southside M.B. Church, with Rayfield Evins Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Sandfield Cemetery. Visitation is from 2-6 p.m. Friday at Carter’s Funeral Services. Carter’s Funeral Services of Columbus is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Greenleaf was born May 19, 1941, in Macon, to the late Edward Greenleaf and Sarah Pearl Moore. He was formerly employed with Beneke,Holman’s Transmission, Holman’s Logging, and Airline Manufacturing. He was a member of Southside M.B. Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Odell Greenleaf; and siblings, Edward Greenleaf, Austin Greenleaf, George O’Bean, Robin Greenlee, Carl Austin, Nias Austin, Mary Greenleaf, Areatha Pickle and Sarah Jane Greenlee Jones.
He is survived by his children, Lucille Levy, David Jones and James Earl Sanders; seven grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Raymond Scott, Roosevelt Windham, Melvin Irions, Freddie Payne, Marco Poindexter and Wallace Stewart.
