HAMILTON — J.W. Lowe, 89, died July 2, 2026, in Tupelo.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, at Hopewell M.B. Church, with Terry Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 1-5 p.m. Saturday at Carter’s Funeral Services. Carter’s Funeral Services of Columbus is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Lowe was born July 25, 1936, in Caledonia, to the late Thomas Lowe and Jimmie Lou Troupe Lowe. He was formerly employed as an engineer with Vista Chemical Company and was a member of Hopewell M.B. Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, L.E. Lowe; and siblings, Wilie Dale Lowe, Jimmiella Verner, Thomas T. Lowe, Jimmy Oliver Lowe and Jimmy D. Lowe.

He is survived by his children, Christine Burford, Pearl Lowe, Charlotte Lowe, John Lowe, Debbie Lowe, Cynthia Lowe, Mark Lowe and Antonio Lowe; siblings, Juanita Goship, Bobbynell Hollivay, Loretta Hollivay, Thomas Lowe, Donnie Lowe, Gayle Thomas, Bob Lowe and Odell Lowe; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Stewart Buford, Tim Griffin, S. Townsend, Preston Ezell, Tim Hargrove, Rickey Townsend and Willie Lee Blevins.
