VERNON, Ala. — Isabella Pennington, 88, died Feb. 2, 2026, at Fayette Medical Center. 

Funeral services will be at noon Friday, at Otts Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Furnace Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Otts Funeral Home of Sulligent, Alabama, is in charge of arrangements. 

Mrs. Pennignton was born to Roosevelt Humphrey and Willie Ruffin. She was a graduate of Todd High School and was formerly employed at Chromalox as a supervisor. She was a member of Murray-Shiloh. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Riley Pennington; son, Michael Pennington; and sister, Mary Hackman. 

She is survived by her children, Carl Pennington of Wagarville, Alabama, Phyllis Pennington,  Vaughn Pennington both of Vernon; sisters, Ida Ruffin, Lula Bell Broyles, Winnie Ruffin, Tillie Sue Casey; nine grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
